Party Planning Inspiration

I turn 23 in a few weeks. Seriously oldddddd! I've decided the only way to deal with this is to embrace it totally so we're throwing a house party. My housemate and I have birthdays a couple of weeks apart so we've picked a date and are party planning! We've decided to do it properly and are going all out with a theme and decorations. This will be the first house party that we've had here (we normally head to the boys so that we don't have to clean up the next day!) so it has to be good!

The theme is Neverland Meets Wonderland and my Pinterest has been totally taken over with the inspiration. I'm thinking fairy lights inside and out, paper pom poms and of course some bunting for good measure. Think cocktails in jars, everyone in fancy dress and good music. We can't wait!

Pinterest is my favourite for getting ideas and always makes me wish that I had my own incredible house to decorate. How can you not be inspired by photos like these…

Down the rabbit hole, then second to the right, and straight on till morning. Party planning inspiration. I can't wait to share the real photos in a few weeks time!

And we danced all night.

The last few weeks have been a bit sporadic with regard to blog posting so I thought I'd start off the new year with a little catch up of my going's on! There's lots scheduled over the next couple of weeks, including my Christmas Hamper posts with some gorgeous recipe's for pressie inspiration at any time of the year!

Top:
The stunning Christmas tree for my sister's first Christmas in her new home; the gorgeously grown up Ona; views over the Stour Estuary on a wintery morning.

Middle:
So many chocolates have been consumed over the past couple of weeks, these get the gold star of approval!; OCs supper: 130 men, 7 girls, of course; discovering my boobs, it was a big moment for us all!

Bottom:
Girly catch ups with my favourites; new year frivolities; library moments.

Top:
Sarah went to Durham and got a new car (we couldn't resist the ridiculousness of this pic!); getting ready sesh :)

Middle:
The outdoor christmas tree and views over the green; my favourite niece, New Years outfit.

Bottom:
The first midnight of 2014; one of my favourite pressies from my big sisters with pics of every big family occasion over the couple of years - its gorgeous!

Feeling 1920s

On Saturday evening I found my 1920s glad rags, pinned my hair and donned the deep red lipstick in aid of Flo's 21st and a 1920s inspired party. Once again, everyone made such an effort with the costumes and the boys had done a great job of decorating the house. The poker table was the central attraction, along with ballons and props inspired by the era.  I love this picture, it sums up the sober part of the night for me...

And here are some of the incredible costumes that the girlies pulled out...

Obviously with a little bit of posing along the way: the 1920s was full of it don't you know!

Gradually the night got sillier...

And sillier... but this is the birthday lady so its definitely okay!

The cake was fabulous, the atmosphere was great and the 5 Miley songs in a row kinda epitomised the night!

Thank you Flo for another incredible 21st - they do make me feel old now though, how am I 23 in couple of months when everyone around me is only just turning 21, ahhhh! <3
