10 Things That Have Made Me Happy This Week

10 Things That Have Made Me Happy This Week
The past week seems to have flown by... Two after work events, a million meetings, a couple of gym classes and trying to fit in time to be in bed before 11 wherever possible (I'm an absolute 8 hour girl). It's felt like a positive week though. The flat has been full of flowers, I've woken up to sun shining through the blinds at least twice and May is a month of fun, with some great plans in place already. Here are the things that have made this last week great...

10 Things That Have Made Me Happy This Week
So, after many months (well 2, but look at that sunshine!) I found this one saved in my drafts. A massive desire for sunshine right now means I couldn't not share it and I already have massive cravings for all of the food, drinks and girly time that happened in this lovely week back at the start of September. As we sit here in long socks, big jumpers and snuggled up in blankets here's a quick look back to sunnier times...
This week was a lovely one. A sunny weekend, so much girly time, holiday planning and wine drinking. New nails, brunch eating, a puppy visit and a little cooking sesh. Here's the things that have stood out this week...

10 Things That Have Made Me Happy This Week
As Spring turns to Summer the adventures seem to increase and the longer days seem to somehow get more and more full. But I for one am definitely not complaining. My desire to sit in front of a screen and write a blog post after a long day at work is fairly low right now and with the onset of brighter evenings recently, I seem to have had an after work plan more often than not (naughty on school nights!). This weekend has been such a chilled one though and I feel truly refreshed, somehow still tired - what is that about?! - and well and truly ready for summer to begin!

10 Things That Have Made Me Happy This Week
Images via my Pinterest
1) Louis' naming ceremony. My godson had his naming ceremony on Sunday. We ate scones, drank champagne, chatted and caught up with family and friends at a vineyard in Essex. Perfect day.
2) Seeing the leaves begin to turn colour and fall from the trees. I love this time of year. Knowing that winter boots are just round the corner makes me very happy.
3) Scarves. The saviour to tube travel when its not quite cold enough for a coat.
4) Coming back to my London flat. Drama free, clean and always with a full fridge. The contrast and atmosphere compared to uni living is unbelievable and I'm so enjoying it.
5) 4 days with the boy in London. Hasn't happened for a long time and was chilled out and lovely.
6) Responsibility at work. I'm running 4 events within a month of each other and finding the challenge so exciting.
7) Knowing that home, mummy, family and the countryside are only ever an hour away.
8) The fact that my big brother is on Grand Designs tonight ahhhh! I love that programme so my excitement levels are massive right now!
9) Charity shop shopping. Dalston has the gem of a charity shop. £2.99 an item and the rails are filled with Hobbs, Zara and Topshop among numerous vintage finds.
10) Making weekend plans for London exploring, wandering and discovering and aiming to fit in a trip to Columbia Road flower market on Sunday morning too.

10 reasons I can't wait to live in London
Having returned home from uni and now attempting to sort my life out I'm getting excited to make the move to London at the end of the summer, fingers crossed! London is just one of those cities that always seems to have something new to offer so here's my list of 10 reasons why I'm looking forward to the move!
1.
The weekend exploring. Despite having spent a lot of time in London over the past few years I can't wait to be able to be there permanently and just be able to explore. It seems like every little pocket of the capital has something different to offer and its going to be amazing to be able to go discovering. Columbia Road Flower Market is one of my favourite spots on a Sunday morning and fingers crossed I won't be living too far away… just look at it!

10 things that have made me happy this week...
1) Home. Food, wine, mummy time and relaxing. Its been idyllic and I think that going back to uni today is going to be a bit of a shock to the system!
2) This song ^^. If you haven't heard it, have a listen.
3) Seeing one of my oldest school friends for catch ups, lunch and g&ts. I hand't seen him since the summer for one reason and another which is no way happening again!
4) Driving. Its one of those things that I forget how much I enjoy when I'm at uni but when I come home I truly relish it!
5) Skype with my sisters. Yes, they may both be on a beach in 40 degree heat right now but we won't hold that against them too much! Giggling conversations are always the best ones.
6) Job applications for this term. So very time consuming but when you start to get responses it becomes oh so satisfying. I'm not looking forward to doing it all for real in a couple of months time for graduation but the CV is sorted so at least thats a step in the right direction!
7) My first run since I damaged my wrist last term and had to cancel my gym subscription. It hurt but fingers crossed it will be worth it.
8) Freshly squeezed juice for breakfast. Another home pleasure but incredibly good!
9) Dissertation inspiration. I may still have a long way to go before I even decide on a topic but I picked up my first book this week for one of two 6,000 word essays. Thats definitely progress and I'm actually looking forward to getting on with them and getting them out the way now final exams are done.
10) Supper and cuddles with one of my favourites and her gorgeous baby. I'm not sure who was wetter at bath time but Louis is so incredibly gorgeous! I'm looking forward to seeing him for a London baby day out for a mid term time break soon!

2) A school reunion like no other. I loved 6th form and going back to see everyone in that setting was slightly strange but more over really lovely. We ended with a little bit of a pub crawl and some very good catch ups!
3) Crisp cold days. Boots, leather gloves and big cosy jumpers. It really doesn't get any better!
4) Secret santa with the girlies and making plans for years to come; I just don't think we can resist when we're all together!
5) Seeing the boy after a 3 week break. Being apart definitely makes you realise what you have and for us, living 2 minutes apart at Uni I think having breaks only makes us better.
6) Heading back to Brighton. Yes there are horrible horrible exams but its so lovely to see everyone and the stories from New Years eve are pretty unrivalled!
7) Our litre and a half bottle of Prosecco on NYE. There is something distinctly classy about drinking it out the bottle, I'm sure of it!!
8) Knowing that in 7 days I get to go home again and have a proper 10 days of chill out time. I literally cannot wait!
9) Whipping out the fur scarf. I found my favourite mink coloured faux fur scarf upon my return to uni and had forgotten quite how much I enjoy wearing it.
10) Finally getting to use my super gorgeous new bag, which I am more than a little bit in love with, purchased with some Christmas money from Daddy! I couldn't resist the lipstick either!

10 things that have made me happy this week...
I'm finally homeeeee! Its been a long time coming and while the last few days since being back may have been filled with work, revision and not much else, at least there is a full fridge and a smiling mummy at the end of it all! So here's the things that have been making me happy over the last week or so...
1) Getting home! <3 Yes that might be a long 3 hours of trains and yes it was a very heavy suitcase but there is no better feeling than crawling into my home bed with its incredible duvet and just snuggling.
2) A walk across the downs with the boy and a much needed yummy lunch at Stanmer House. Roast potatoes make everything good!
3) Seeing my gorgeous niece after a month. She's incredible and I love hanging out with her!
4) Chats. Sometimes the deep ones are the hardest to have and the most upsetting but they really do make you realise what you have and why you're bothering to make it work, despite the hard bits.
5) Making Christmas hampers in amongst the work. Blog posts to come soon - this years a good one for homemade pressies!
6) The food that is making revision so much more bearable. Lindt chocolates and white wine are my life right now and I have no cares whats so ever about obesity!
7) Managing to see my lovely and ever growing godson. He is the epitome of cute and nothing is better than baby cuddles - I really do miss them when I'm at uni.
8) Wellies and my big fur coat. Staple everyday pieces since being home and I wouldn't want it any other way!
9) Wrapping pressies with the heating up high and some trashy music. 6 daysss!
10) Knowing I'm seeing my girlies on Saturday for a big formal occasion which are always full of memories - I cannot wait!

10 things that have made me happy this week...
1) Coming home for the weekend! Mummy food, love, sister and baby times and a little bit of chill out time before the last couple of weeks of term.
2) Underwear shopping. I have discovered THE best brand (unfortunately its American so postage charges aren't great) that stocks silky, beautiful underwear: its classy but not slutty which is so difficult to find on the high street. Check out Eberjey here.
3) The fact that the Promenade website is nearly ready to go live - watch this space next week! Lots of hard work but I can't wait to reveal all!!
4) Having a tidy room; I needed a sort out and finally gave in this week. It will be nice to go back to uni and clean space (despite the fact that my wardrobe is currently collapsed under the weight of all my dresses but we don't have to talk about that bit!!).
5) The wool and knitted blankets that I found when out with mummy this weekend. Perfect for the season and incredible to crawl under of an evening!
6) Skype calls with my biggest sister as she chills out on the beach in India - I love catch ups!
7) Apple crumble. There is nothing better than homemade crumble on a wintery day, especially when eaten by a big log fire!
8) Christmas shopping with mummy, helping her buy for everyone and my list continually growing!
9) Waking up to hilarious drunken 2am phone calls from the boy and his friends; i was laughing hysterically in my sleepy-ness! Drunken love is always entertaining!
10) Eating the biggest and best roast dinner. They really really do make Sundays! Good wine, yorkshire puds and huge trays of crispy roast potatoes. I'm now sitting in a big food coma and there's no where else I'd rather be!

10 things that have made me happy this week...
1) Cheese night! Camembert, Edam mmmm; the blue not so much! A perfect spontaneous night with my house followed by a trashy movie!
2) Autumn leaves everywhere I go. What's not to love.
3) Walking out of my house on crisp winter mornings. Even it the day isn't that exciting the Zara coat that I get to put on makes everything okay.
4) The boy. Chatting, chilling and laughing. There has been lots of that this week.
5) Seeing the Christmas lights for the first time in Brighton. I was like a child. Fireworks and Chriatmas are definitely my weaknesses!!
6) Making plans for Chriatmas with my home favorites. I can't wait to go back to the countryside and see everyone already! There will undoubtedly be a lot of wine/cider involved as per and no doubt at least a few hilarious stories to be told!
7) A fabulous sports luxe shoot for the magazine I edit, Promenade. The website is coming soon so watch this space!
8) A delish supper out with friends. They really are the best.
9) A little bit of a shopping trip to reward the efforts of the week - new jeans and lacy tops anyone?
10) And finally, 7000 words. Done! It's felt like a lifetime and I'm so glad these little babies are now safely in the hands of the school office!

10 things that have made me happy this week...
1) Letters from my gorgeous niece and big sister. Post is good, this kind of post is the best!
2) Halloween with my favourites. Dressing up, drinking too much and being silly never grows old. Incredible costumes just makes it even better!
3) Ice lolly hangover cures.
4) Zara. Better than usual at the moment and its normally pretty fab. I can't stop popping in to my local Brighton store and visits are now reaching at least once a week. Whoopssss! Also, their coats. Oh wow, their coats. If you haven't checked them out yet, do.
5) Crunching in Autumn leaves wherever i go.
6) Parties. I've had two this week. A 22nd in town for my housemate and last night a 1920s inspired 21st. There is nothing better than a good house party! (My work/hangovers may be suffering but heyyy, there's still 17 days left to get those essays done so sure it'll be fine!)
7) Gossip girl. I've started from season 1 again. I don't think that it will ever get old and is the most perfect programme for chilly winter evenings.
8) Food. Yep, just generally! I haven't been feeling cooking this week but last night's supper was delish and I think got the whole cooking thing back on track. Roll on the market on Tuesday with its gorgeously colourful fruit and veg.
9) Cinema times with the boy. We saw Captain Phillips, with lots of popcorn, and sweeties. Its good, really good. Check it out!
10) And lastly, and perhaps most importantly, my new duvet. Its incredible. In fact, I'm not even sure if there are any words to describe it. Lets just say everyones been in my bed this week, (and there was even a little cheeky bit of Madagascar watching under the covers at one point!) mmmhhhh!
