40 degree water, champagne and good movies, all on a rooftop in central London as the sun sets – what’s not to like?

One of my friends found out about hot tub cinema a couple of weeks ago and I can't wait to check it out over summer but I couldn't resist sharing it in the meantime! Hot tubs are great at the best of times but this experience sounds incredible. Classic British film, views across the city and a hot tub filled with friends sounds fairly perfect to me! The company was only established last year, evolving from a private party. It appears to retain an element of exclusivity and is certainly a novel idea! A unique and immersive cinema experience by all accounts, just check out the pics below!

In Vogue: The Editors Eye

Produced and directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, in association with HBO - the network that bought us Sex and the City - In Vogue: The Editors Eye focuses on the fashion editors, the women that have kept Vogue at the forefront of fashion since the magazines creation.

Personal, intimate and wholly informative the documentary celebrates the 120th anniversary of American Vogue. Discussed through photographs and memories, moments of drama, and seconds of chaos, the documentary shows visions and editorials from Grace Coddington to Polly Mellon, through to the legendary Anna Wintour herself. For me, the documentary is so amazing as you feel as if you are obtaining a true glimpse into an unknown and somewhat secret 'other' world of the fashion industry. The photographs are amazing, revolutionary and striking, yet most notably timeless. Outfits and accessories are more than enviable.

Not only are the editors featured in the documentary film, but also the actresses, models and designers that have graced the pages. Going behind the scenes at the Conde Nast publication, the film reveals how some of the magazines most recognised editorials came to life.
 

I was captivated from start to finish and learnt a lot in the process - the inner most thoughts of the editors really are portrayed and the viewer feels as though they are getting a magical insight into the cult world of the sartorial bible. Now available on SkyGo for British viewers, the documentary has been widely acclaimed and is definitely recommended. I'd love to hear your thoughts! 

 

Film thoughts: Into the wild

My life over the last couple of weeks has been somewhat taken over by exams and deadlines and I haven't had a second to even think about blogging. It's all over now thank goodness and all that's left is to await the results! One thing I did do, however, was re-watch Into the Wild. There isn't much to be said apart from if you haven't seen it already watch it, and if you have, then take this as a reminder to re-watch it! It really is that good. 2 hours of beautiful imagery, a great storyline, interesting character development and poignancy.

FOCUS from Ari Kruger

Truly one of the most beautiful pieces of cinematography I have ever come across. I found this last year and I am still mesmerised everytime I watch it. It has both style and substance, which is such a refreshing thing to see as well of course as stunning composition.
